Table Manners


Table manners are the rules used while eating, include the appropriate use of utensils or how to have correctly while eating according to international rules. Whether you're eating at a fancy restaurant, in the cafeteria, or at home with friends and families, good table manners make for a more pleasant meal. While you may not need to worry about confusing your salad fork with your dessert fork when dining with friends, some basic table manners should never be forgotten.

There are many benefits you could get when studied the table manner, as the following:

Kinds of time for table manner
In table manner there was some sort of the time it should be noted:

1. Breakfast : 06:00am-10:30am
2. Lunch: 11:00am-15:00pm
3. Dinner: 19.00pm-23:00pm
4. Brunch : 10:00am-12:00am
5. Supper : 00:00pm-03:00am
6. Morning tea
7. Afternoon tea

Kinds of Menu
 
You need to know the types of menu food and beverage that can be served, as the following:

Table d’hote: it is a complete menu that can not be separated, including appetizer until dessert with one pack and price.
a’la carte: serve many variations of kind of food with the different price.
Buffet: it is a complete menu with one price who presented self-service and in other words, is all you can eat.

General Etiquette Rules
Here are some easy-to-follow Do's and Don'ts:

Dress Code: Follow whatever dress code is requested on the invitation or suggested by the host/hostess.
Arrival: Arrive at least 10 minutes early unless otherwise specified. Never arrive late!
(When meeting someone)… rise if you are seated, smile and extend your hand
Turn off your cell phone
Keep elbows off the table. Keep your left hand in your lap unless you are using it.
Place knife at the top of the dinner plate, facing in, after use.
Do not "play with" your food or utensils.
If another diner asks for the salt or pepper, pass both together, even if a table mate asks for only one of them.
Do NOT talk with food in your mouth
Cut only enough food for the next mouthful (cut no more than two bites of food at a time).
Don't make an issue if you don't like something or can't eat it – keep silent.
Turn your head from the table when you cough or sneeze.
 
General Etiquette Rules: Finished Eating
 
After finished eating, there are rules that must you notice to end the table manner as the following:
1. When you are finished eating do not push your plate away from you.
2. When dining with others, everyone should start and finish at the same time.
3. To signal that you are done with the course, rest your fork, tines up, and knife blade in, with the handles resting at five o'clock and tips pointing to ten o'clock on your plate.
Table manner as well as very important to show character and psychological. If you want to respect, then honor one who has to invite you using formal attire and table manner as well as who well.
